  • I am a PhD candidate in Philosophy and Assistant Lecturer-Researcher (“ATER”) at the Université Paris 8 Vincennes Saint-Denis. My teaching and research is focused on Early Modern philosophy, esp. Spinoza and contemporary Spinozisms.

I am writing my dissertation on the transmission and reception of Spinoza by philosophers in the English-speaking world from about 1880 to 1980 (i.e. from F. Pollock, 1880, to J. Bennett, 1984). I intend that it be both a specific contribution to the field of Spinoza studies as well as a work in the fields of the historiography of Early Modern philosophy and the philosophy of the history of philosophy.

In conjunction with Charles Ramond I organize the conference series Spinoza à Paris 8 (www.spinozaparis8.com). In 2016 I also participated in the organization of the international conference Spinoza France États-Unis (publication forthcoming). I have presented and/or published papers on subjects such as : Spinoza’s philosophy of mind, his political philosophy, and his philosophy of religion ; Gilles Deleuze’s metaphilosophy ; and Leo Strauss’ theory of writing.
